Fall/Spring/Summer Start – First Year Students

Congratulations on your choice to become a Colorado State University Ram! We are eagerly awaiting your arrival to campus to introduce you and your family to CSU. Ram Orientation programs are dynamic, student-centered experiences to inspire a purposeful transition into the Ram community. Orientation programs are the first step toward a successful graduation.

By intentionally immersing and connecting students to the story of Colorado State, orientation fosters an emotional connection to the people, places, and ideas of the Ram community to inspire success. Within this community built at orientation, students learn from staff, faculty, and current students the best practices for academic and personal success as they begin the journey toward graduation.

All new students are required to participate in Ram Orientation.

Please make sure to take your time and look through our website. All of your questions should be answered by following each of the links. If you do have a question, please don’t hesitate to contact us at (970) 491-6011 or orientation@colostate.edu.

We are looking forward to welcoming you to the Colorado State University family!

Fall 2024 Start

This summer we are offering 2 different formats for First-Year Ram Orientation, an on-campus orientation experience or a virtual orientation experience. Both formats will provide you with information, a small group with peers, access to campus resources and advising and course registration. No matter the format you choose you will gain important information to have a successful transition.

Additionally, we offer sessions for Parents, Families, and Guests during all sessions of First-Year Ram Orientation.

Below you will learn more about the different Ram Orientation formats, find information about dates, and explore Parent, Family, & Guest Orientation options

On-Campus Ram Orientation

Our on-campus orientation is a 2 day program that allows students to connect with peers, campus resources, and current students, take a campus tour, and participate in group advising and register for classes. Students will stay overnight in a residence hall on campus and eat meals in our dining halls.

This experience provides students the opportunity to become acquainted with campus, make connections and get their questions answered. This orientation format is offered throughout June and July. To pick the session that best fits your schedule, view the First-Year On-Campus Ram Orientation Dates.

On-campus Ram Orientation is a 3 step process. All 3 steps must be completed to successfully finish orientation.

Be sure to fill out this section as fully as possible to ensure the most helpful Academic Advising and Course Registration experience at Orientation.
