Families and Guests

We offer a specially designed Ram Orientation session for family members and support systems of new Colorado State University students. Orientation is about giving students the opportunity to learn more about Colorado State, to meet with an academic advisor, and register for classes. It is also about families and support systems learning more about academic success, supporting students in their transition, student involvement at CSU, and about how to support their student’s growth and development while at CSU.

Students and their families who have participated in orientation have repeatedly told our staff that attending orientation made the first year at Colorado State University much easier—students knew what to expect and where to go for assistance. Students also report feeling more comfortable in the Colorado State University community and making connections with other students, faculty, and administrators. Families felt more connected and knowledgeable about resources and how to successfully navigate through this time of transition.

We also encourage all families to connect with Parent and Family Programs! This office is designed specifically as a resource for families and support systems of students throughout their time at CSU.
