First-Year Parent, Family, and Guest Orientation

Ram Orientation is not just an experience for students– we know how important it is for you to know what to expect as your student starts their time at Colorado State University. We invite you to attend one of our options for Parents, Family, and Guest Ram Orientation sessions.

There are 2 options that you, as the support system of a first-year student, can choose from for your Orientation Session. Explore the options below to decide which session is best for you. No matter which session you select, you will receive information critical in supporting your student in their transition. Registration for Parent, Family, and Guest Orientation is part of your student’s orientation reservation process on can be completed on our orientation reservation page.

Virtual Parent, Family, and Guest Ram Orientation

We know that it may not be possible for you and your student to travel to Fort Collins for Ram Orientation, and we still want you to have information that can help you support them. Throughout the summer, we will be hosting various sessions of Virtual Parent, Family, and Guest Ram Orientation on the same days as students have virtual Ram Orientation Sessions. These programs will take place from 9:00 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. Mountain Daylight Time on each date. During these sessions, you can expect to hear from different campus resources, current students, and staff who are here to support both you and your student.

Participating in Virtual Parent, Family, and Guest Ram Orientation also gives you access to online orientation modules. These modules can be completed at your own pace and will be available to you throughout the summer.
