First 50 Days

First 50 Days includes programs that new students should attend their first 8 weeks on campus. By attending and participating in these programs, new students will have the ability to learn about involvement opportunities on campus, become a part of the CSU campus, engage in community-wide events and enhance their connection to being a CSU Ram! As a new student within the first 8 weeks of the semester, you should plan on participating in the events listed below:

Ram Welcome

Build upon your Ram Orientation experience and officially become part of the CSU community during Ram Welcome.  All new students are expected to attend the Ram Welcome program.

Come hang out on the McGraw lawn right outside of Moby Arean before the volleyball match and fuel up for the night with food samples from Papa John’s Pizza, Noodles and Company, Qdoba, Fuzzy’s Tacos, Dunkin Donuts, Jimmy Johns, Chick-fil-A, and Old Chicago from 5:00-6:30pm!
Then, at 7:00pm, come see your seven-time defending Mountain West Champions as they take on St. Mary’s at home! After the match, beginning at 8:00pm come play outdoor laser tag and inflatable games on the Towers Lawn! If you are in the mood for a movie, Captain America: Civil War will start at 8:30pm the Laurel Village Pavilion Amphitheatre.

The Fall Address has been a campus fixture for decades, giving University presidents the opportunity to welcome students to campus while presenting the state of the university. The picnic was added in 1997 – after a flash flood devastated campus and the surrounding community just a few weeks prior to the start of classes – to celebrate the resiliency of the campus and to look forward to a bright future. Come join the campus community for lunch on the oval for this annual tradition.

Rams Game Day Experience

Colorado State Athletics invites you to this FREE, once-in- a-lifetime, college football experience! The Rams Game Day Experience includes a commemorative t-shirt, transportation to and from Hughes Stadium, a tailgate party with music and food, an opportunity to form the pregame team tunnel on the field for the CSU Football team, and your own seating section to cheer the Rams to victory! CSU Meet and Greet (For Students Living in the Residence Halls)
At CSU Meet and Greet campus faculty and staff visit residence halls to stop in and say hello and answer any questions about classes or life on campus. There will be ice cream and lots of prizes and fun activities! The 11th Annual CSU Meet and Greet will occur during the following dates:

Taking Stock
Taking Stock is an opportunity to reflect on your transition at CSU after the third week of the semester. You will be invited to participate in the Taking Stock assessment to learn more about yourself, the people you have met, and ways to get better connected to the resources at CSU. After you take the survey, chat with your Resident Assistant or the Off-Campus Life staff to get the most out of your CSU experience. It doesn’t take long but can make all the difference in the months and years ahead!

Cans Around The Oval
Cans Around the Oval is a Colorado State University tradition, where students, faculty, and staff partner with community members, local media, and area businesses to raise awareness about hunger in our community, as well as raise food and monetary donations for the Food Bank for Larimer County. This event is Larimer County's largest single-day food drive and events will take place on the following dates:

Cans Around the Oval Kickoff: September 7, 9am-4pm, ASCSU Senate Chambers
CANstruction: October 5, 10am-2pm, LSC Plaza
Cans Around the Oval: October 12, 10am-4pm, CSU Oval
New students specifically can get involved by donation any non-perishable food items or volunteer the day of the event.

Homecoming and Family Weekend
Thurs.-Sat., October 6-8, 2016
Join the CSU campus community as we celebrate Homecoming & Family Weekend! Activities include the Festival on the Oval, Friday Night Lights (pep rally, bonfire, fireworks, and lighting of the “A”), Homecoming parade, and of course, the Homecoming football game!
